John Rapalje              Henry Will and John Maley
John Rapalje              John Johnson
John Rapalje              James Bates
not stated                   Aquila Giles
Volkert Spring*          John Lawrence
John Rapalje              Morgan Lewis
not stated                   Samuel Striker
John Rapalje              Malachi Treat

*The surname "Spring" may be an error for Sprong.

Six of the forfeitures involve land that belonged to John Rapalje. He fled the area during the Revolution and went to England, taking with him many of the records of the Reformed Dutch Church at Brooklyn. The records, which would have contained many baptisms from about the year 1720 up to the Revolutionary War period, have never been seen since. The missing records have created some terrific challenges for researchers trying to re-construct families from colonial Kings County.
