In the
post of December 27, 2019 we provided abstracts of some land records (deeds) from Fayette County, Pennsylvania. Digital images of the records abstracted can be found
online at FamilySearch.org. These records were found using the Grantor Index for the letter B which
begins with this image. The Grantee Index was not explored. The
letter B begins here for anyone who may wish to pursue this route. In the earlier post referenced above I mentioned abstracting additional records, time permitting. Time does not permit this, so instead here is a list of additional deeds involving BREWERs as grantors as found in the Grantors Index. There may be some genealogical clues within these records, and should any interested readers happen to explore them and find some new info that may be of help to others researching Brewers in Fayette County, Pennsylvania, we'd appreciate if you share them with us, or even point out there location in the land record books so others can easily find them. Please use the Comments tool at the end of this post.

The two BREWER families from Fayette County, Pennsylvania of whom we have a special interest are those of
David Brewer who was there from around 1790 until 1800 when he relocated to Tyler Co., Virginia (West Virginia) and then to Jennings Co., Indiana. We know from
Y-DNA testing of a descendant that he must be a descendant of
Jan Brouwer of Flatlands, L.I. Although we surmise that he was a son of
Dirck Brouwer (b.1732), proof for this suggestion has yet to be found. David Brewer's name is not found in the Grantors Index. The second family is headed by
Elias Brewer, who we suggest may be a brother of David, but that is only a suggestion based upon the fact that both are at Redstone in Fayette County. We do not have Y-DNA tests from any male descendants of Elias Brewer, but we do strongly suspect that he too is a descendant of Jan Brouwer of Flatlands, based on the fact that his name was Elias, a name that is very common among Jan Brouwer's descendants, and almost completely absent (I think that there is one exception) among the descendants of
Adam Brouwer of Gowanus, L. I. Elias relocated to Ohio in about 1806 and died in Washington Co., Indiana in 1842. The deeds abstracted on the
December 27, 2019 post, and those listed above, would belong to him.
